‘Aspirations Through a Love for Learning’
Holy Trinity C of E (VC) Primary School is situated in the town of Halstead. It was opened in 1845 and has developed over the years to be substantially bigger than the original building.
Holy Trinity is currently not part of a MAT, but it has long-standing links with our local church, St Andrew’s, and works closely with the Chelmsford Diocese. We are proud of our strong team of staff, who strive to ensure that the school is the best it can be. We work hard to guarantee that the children who attend our school enjoy school life, that they are both happy and safe as they strive to achieve academic excellence. We are committed to driving our school forward so that the children within our school continue to receive an excellent education and thrive in our care.
We strongly believe that our children need to develop life-long values, skills and knowledge whilst attending our school; and our school values of Love, Honesty and Respect underpin all that we do. We nurture and care about every child at Holy Trinity so that we can successfully grow and foster the future young adults whom we want to live alongside.
The school has children from the age of 4 to 11 who are taught in seven single-aged classes. At present there are 213 children on roll and the school is oversubscribed.
At Holy Trinity there is a strong emphasis on each child achieving their potential whether they are high achievers, have difficulties with their learning, or whether they are particularly talented in some way.
We are very careful to give the children the opportunity to be involved in the running of the school. The School Council plays a leading part in decision-making in the school. They had a large part to play in creating the new Learning Powers that were put in place in September 2022.
The school is embarking on some exciting new developments since September 2022, notably international links and even richer curriculum projects with an emphasis on aspirations and challenge for all. We have a friendly atmosphere at Holy Trinity and have high standard in behaviour. Visitors often comment on polite pupils and the happy and relaxed atmosphere they are greeted with as they come through the front door.
