Church & Community
At Holy Trinity C of E Primary School, we are deeply Christian in character and practise our School Christian Values on a daily basis.
Collective Worship is the ‘heartbeat’ of our school day, setting the tone for the behaviour and ethos of our school family. We have strong links with St Andrew’s Church, notably Reverend Katie de Bourcier. We welcome visitors into school on a regular basis to contribute to R.E lessons, Collective Worship and to mark key dates in the Christian calendar.
We embrace the Church of England’s vision which is deeply Christian and proclaims Jesus’ promise of “Life in all its fullness” (John 10:10) through our key values of love, honesty and respect.
Our Christian values underpin and enhance everything we all do within the community of our school.
The focus for collective worship is around the relevant value with bible stories of Christ's teachings of this value shared which is then reinforced in by teachers during the school day. These values are displayed at key areas around the school and certificates are given out weekly to children who have been seen living out these values alongside the school’s Learning Powers.
We seek to promote our shared values based on Christian teaching throughout their school life so that children come to make behavioural choices based on Christian values. These values inform the schools, vision ethos and the design of the curriculum, all policies the planning of spiritual and moral development as well as the school’s governance and management.
Every opportunity is taken to celebrate the demonstration of these values in children’s behaviour both in school and also during events outside school. We weave our values into all aspects of school life and share them in our daily language; they are important to staff, children and the community.
We take a pride in having a school that provides an inviting, inclusive environment where all members of the school community, of all faiths or none, are valued, respected and care for one another.
