1 | The Quality of Education | Change the way that writing is developed to ensure that progress is measurable more accurately through Ros Wilson bandings and to adapt the teaching of writing to include the aspects of grammar. Broaden the creative elements of independent writing, the focus being to increase the number achieving GDS in English through high quality interventions, showing progress from ARE to GDS. Introduce coaching pairs to support and appraise learning and teaching. Embed memory-friendly learning to support all groups of learners across all subjects. |
2 | Behaviour and Attitudes | Maintain outstanding behaviours and attitudes. Ensure well-being for all is promoted within the school community. Gain Rights Respecting Schools Award – Bronze Level from children gaining a broader knowledge of cultures around the world, acknowledging similarities in differences between themselves and children in other countries through world-wide exchange programmes. To embed the Christian ethos and values of the school through refining delivery of collective worship so that routines are embedded, and spiritual element is more prominent through a central focal point in collective worship, developed through artists in residence. Set up and maintain the Reflection Area. |
3 | Personal Development | The school’s work to enhance pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development so that it is of a high quality. Ensure children have high aspirations through quality learning experiences and enrichment days as well as visiting speakers to talk about different career paths. Introduce and embed new Learning Powers to enable confidence, resilience, and independence. Children are encouraged to identify these in themselves and others. Develop mental health awareness through the training of a lead person who can then disseminate high quality practice to a team of mental health first-aiders. Develop aspect of cultural capital through exposure to links with primary schools across continents around the world and exposure to different cultures through The Arts. |
4 | Early Years Foundation Stage | Through the introduction of free writing books with time to share and appreciate, close the gap between writing, reading and number ELGs. To further develop rates of progress in fine motor and writing skills - in particular, for boys and the disadvantaged groups through a stimulating and well-resourced environment (indoors and outdoors). Develop Year 1 enhanced provision in the afternoons. |
